Ghanaian Gospel singer, Empress Gifty Adorye, has revealed the numerous phone calls she receives from people threatening to take the life of her husband.

The Gospel singer, married to popular Ghanaian politician Hopeson Adorye, said the calls mostly come through late at night.

Gifty’s husband was one of the staunch members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) before he joined Alan Kyerematen’s ‘Movement for Change’.

According to the Gospel singer, the death threats targeted at her husband are serious but she is not bothered much as she is relying on the protection of God.

“I always receive a lot of calls from some people threatening to take the life of my husband. But I understand the work we do, so you need to have spiritual backing. So sometimes when I see or hear these things, I try my best to attack it from the spiritual side by praying,” she said in an interview on Mahyease TV.

The ‘Watch Me’ singer further described her husband as a calm person at home.

“My husband is a peaceful person who barely talks at home. If you will hear him talking then he is calling to tell you he is hungry. People shouldn’t be deceived by what they see on television or social media,” Empress Gifty Adorye stated.

Gifty and Mr Adorye tied the knot in 2018.
