Ghanaian musician and songwriter Kwabena Kwabena has recounted the challenges he faced following his divorce, revealing that he almost ended up like comedian Funny Face, who is currently struggling with mental health issues stemming from failed relationships and separation from his children.

In an interview with Ghana News TV, the “Adult Music” hitmaker disclosed that his friends significantly contributed to the breakdown of his second marriage.

He stated that seeing videos of Funny Face brings him to tears because he can relate to his struggles.

“It was very difficult when I ended my marriage. I can say I was not far from what happened to my brother Funny Face. Every time I see him, I cry because it could have been me. So, let us keep our brother in our prayers,” he said.

Kwabena Kwabena expressed gratitude to God for his resilience, stating, “I’m thankful to God that I’m still alive and sound. I didn’t know how I got out of that situation.”

When asked about the inspiration behind his new gospel single, “Fakye Me,” he revealed that he wrote the song during a period of mental distress. “I wrote that song when I was going through a lot. I asked God to forgive me if I had done something wrong because I am only human. I can make mistakes, but should my mistakes lead me to such a situation?”

After his first divorce, Kwabena Kwabena married Abena Owusuaa in 2010, but their marriage ended, and their divorce became public in 2017.
