The husband of a Michigan woman who disappeared from a boat in the Bahamas slipped off a boat during a police transport, his attorney said.

Brian Hooker, 59, fell off a boat and suffered from knee pain and abrasions on Wednesday, attorney Terrel Butler said.

During the transport, Hooker was cuffed and rough conditions prevented him from being able to hold on for safety, Butler added.

The 59-year-old is being taken to Rand Hospital for further treatment and evaluation, Fox News reported.

Hooker was arrested by police in the Bahamas on Wednesday after his wife, Lynette, vanished while sailing aboard a boat near the archipelago.

He was detained on the Abaco islands five days after he returned from a sailing expedition without his wife, claiming she fell overboard.
