Ghanaian midfielder, Thomas Partey has been integral to Arsenal in the 2024/2025 UEFA Champions League season as the team aims for the title this season.

The player is one of the team’s best performers, especially in the midfield, in the 12 games the team has played so far in the European competition.

This piece puts the spotlight on Thomas Partey’s performances in the matches he has played for Arsenal in the UCL this season

Inter Milan

Partey was key for the Gunners as they lost to Milan by 1-0. With a 7/10 rating, he lost possession in a dangerous spot early on, but grew into the game after that and was probably Arsenal’s standout player in the first half.

Sporting Lisbon

Partey scored 8/10 in Arsenal’s victory against Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon.

He dominated the game in the first half, bullying the Sporting midfield and using the ball intelligently. A superb chipped ball over the top got Saka in behind for the second goal.

Shakhtar Donetsk

Partey was the dominant player on the pitch with an 8/10 rating. He controlled the game in the first half, both with the ball and without it, getting back to his very best, which is a good sign. He moved to right-back for the second half after White went off.

AS Monaco

The Black Stars midfielder scored a 7/10 rating, filling in well at right-back. It was a solid display from the player, who got forward when he could.

PSV Eindhoven

Thomas Partey had a 6/10 rating with an average performance. He was decent in the midfield but did concede the penalty with an unnecessary foul on de Jong in the round of sixteen games. He was booked for the offense before being withdrawn with 20 minutes remaining.

Real Madrid

Partey recorded an impressive 8/10 rating and was calm and composed. He moved the ball well and swept up in front of the defense. It was an excellent display. He had a phenomenal performance in Arsenal’s big win over Real Madrid in the UCL quarter-final first leg.

The former Atlético Madrid man played at full throttle, having 77 touches and completing 61 out of 66 attempted passes. The Ghanaian made seven passes into the final third, recorded six ball recoveries, won four out of seven ground duels, completed two out of two long passes, and made one interception.

He followed it up with a commanding performance in the second leg, playing a key role in Arsenal’s 2-1 victory at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

The Ghanaian midfielder completed the full 90 minutes and ended the match with 100% pass accuracy, making him the most accurate passer on the pitch. Defensively, Partey recorded three blocks, three clearances, three recoveries, one interception, and won four out of seven ground duels.

Offensively, he completed all 21 of his attempted passes, created one chance, had one shot attempt, made three passes into the final third, and completed his only attempted dribble.

Arsenal advanced to the last four of the competition with a 5-1 aggregate scoreline, having won the first leg 3-0. They will face French giants Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals.
