It was a heartbreaking moment when a player went unconscious during a Division Two League encounter between Sekondi Hasaacas and BIS Paradise at Kobby’s Park in Takoradi.
According to an eyewitness account, the Hasaacas player, whose identity was not disclosed, started the match on the bench due to a medical condition.
However, he was introduced in the game after the player informed the coaching staff that he felt fit and ready to play.

After being introduced in the game, he collapsed on the pitch and lost consciousness, prompting nearby soldiers to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in an effort to save his life.
“He [the affected player] said he could play, which is why the coaches allowed him. The guy went unconscious, and we had soldiers around; two from the Naval Base and one from the Air Force, who did a top job. They were pushing the boy’s chest, trying to revive him.
“It took 15 minutes before he responded and was taken to the hospital. You could see the Hasaacas players crying and weeping as their teammate battled for his life. They eventually used a vehicle to transport him to the hospital,” the eyewitness said in a video shared on X.
Meanwhile, the club has yet to update the public on the player’s health status following his hospitalization.
