Mavis Asante is a gospel musician

It all began with a simple trip to pick up a parcel at Circle; an ordinary day that turned into the beginning of a love story for Ghanaian gospel musician, Mavis Asante.

What seemed like a mere encounter in a queue later unfolded into a life-changing relationship she never saw coming.

Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime on December 2, 2025, Mavis Asante shared how she first crossed paths with the man who eventually became her husband.

According to her, there was nothing dramatic or prophetic about their meeting.

“For me, he didn’t prophecy to me that he saw in the vision that I’m his wife. We met at circle,” she said.

She explained that she had gone to the Trans area to pick up a parcel from Kumasi, while he was also there for his. They both stood in the queue, exchanged glances, and naturally took notice of each other.

After collecting her parcel and preparing to leave, she noticed him speaking to the person she had gone with. They introduced themselves briefly and then went their separate ways.

‘You can’t release a song and sleep’ – Mavis Asante tells colleagues

“I was at Trans, I was going to the ford station to take a parcel from Kumasi and he was also there to pick his parcel. I was with someone but the person was waiting for me somewhere. We were both in the queue so we saw each other.

“That was before mentor. As I got my parcel and I was about leaving, I saw him talking to the person I went there with. We introduced ourselves and we left,” she stated.

She disclosed that at the time, she had no idea he was a pastor.

Months later, fate brought them together again.

“Few months later, he was invited to our church to preach and that’s when I realised he’s a pastor. We spoke at church and exchanged contacts,” Mavis shared.

The connection grew stronger after that encounter.

“He called me in the evening, we started talking and the rest is history,” she added.
