     A man has died after two boats collided in the Sydney Harbour. 

    Emergency services were called to New Beach Road in Darling Point, Sydney, following reports of two boats had collided at 6.30pm on Friday.

    A man in his 50s, who has yet to be formally identified, sustained a severe chest injury in the crash and died at the scene. 

    Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command were aided by members of the Marine Area Command who attended the scene.

    Police were seen near the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia talking to witnesses and bystanders after the crash.  

    Skippers of both boats involved in the crash will be subject to mandatory testing and both vessels have been seized for mechanical examination.

    Investigations into the incident have commenced.

    A report will be prepared for the coroner.
