A husband and wife have tragically been left dead in a suspected robbery gone wrong in Sydney‘s west.

A 69-year-old man and 68-year-old woman are believed to have been fatally stabbed inside Buzzy Bee’s Burger House, Cambridge Park after officers found two bodies about 9.40am on Saturday.

Police attended the business following reports made by a family member of an assault.

Footage captured on Oxford St and circulating on social media showed a man dressed in all black. Witnesses said they saw him jump from the roof of the Cambridge Park Shops onto the ground.

Police have since confirmed it will be a focus of their investigation, as they look into footage of ‘numerous things’.

The deceased are yet to be officially identified, but it has been reported the couple were Buzzy Bee’s owners Hoa Tek Chien and Heang Kim Gau.

Superintendent Michael Cantrell said officers arrived to a ‘confronting scene’.

He said police haven’t yet established any ‘suspects’, but believe the ongoing risk to the public is diminished with ‘no intelligence to suggest that there’s a further threat’.

Locals expressed their condolences to the family and said they were shocked the quiet suburb had been rocked by such a violent attack.

‘Been going to Busy Bees for years, such a beautiful family. Sad day for our community,’ a Cambridge Park woman wrote.

‘May Ma and Pa rest in peace … their sons are in shock and so devastated right now. The community is here for you boys,’ another said.

‘Robbery gone wrong, ended in both their lives being taken from them, rest in peace, Cambo won’t be the same without them two been going there for 20 years,’ another man wrote.

One woman said she waited with two boys in a laneway, while they were ‘bawling their eyes out inconsolably’ after the incident.

Locals reported waking to wailing emergency vehicles and thumping police helicopters in the quiet western Sydney suburb on Saturday morning.

Police have taped off the storefront and surrounding lanes as detectives from the Nepean district police converged on Oxford Street.

Grief-stricken men were seen embracing on the street about midday as police congregated in the area.

A local business owner claimed the back door of the Burger Bar had been left open and items inside had been tossed around.

He claimed the couple were found deceased upstairs by one of the pair’s children.

Heartbroken tributes have continued to flood in over the afternoon.

‘They will be sadly missed I’ve been going there since I was 14, now I’m 42 the whole community is in mourning right now they were such lovely people. May they rest in peace,’ a long-time resident said.

Another said the couple’s store was a community favourite.

‘This is devastating news. Buzzy Bees has been our favourite fish and chip shop for many years. My condolences.’

A former sales representative said he’d dealt with the family for years, and couldn’t imagine the sons’ grief.

‘I just can’t believe that this has happened to the owners of this store. I looked after this store as a rep for Streets ice-cream for many years and the owners were very nice people. Just heartbreaking for their families and right before Christmas.’

Police confirmed the incident on Saturday morning.

‘A crime scene was established and police commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident, assisted by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad,’ a NSW Police spokesperson said.

‘No further information is available at this stage.’

The Penrith community has been left reeling in the wake of a spate of tragic incidents.

Earlier in November, in an unconnected incident, a man was charged over the alleged murder of his girlfriend in the Pullman Hotel, Penrith.

Police allege they found kickboxer Darren John Berry inside a room at the hotel covered in blood with cuts on his arms with the body of Shirley So.

On Thursday, in a separate occurrence, police pulled the body of a dead woman from the Nepean River at Penrith after a member of the public made a report.

The woman is yet to be formally identified.

Police have appealed for anybody wth information regarding the incident to contact Crime Stoppers online or on 1800 333 000.
