After successfully completing the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon in 2023, Nigerian chef Hilda Effiong Bassey has announced her decision to engage in another competition.
In a post shared on her Instagram page, Hilda Baci noted that she would begin her attempt to cook jollof rice in the World’s largest pot on September 12, 2025.
Hilda Baci explained that she had the inspiration to compete in 2023.

Explaining the size of the pot, the Nigerian chef noted that the pot will be 6 meters by 6 meters wide.
“Almost 2 years ago, I had the dream to cook the largest pot of Jollof Rice ever made. And now, with @ginonaija and YOU, that dream is coming alive
6 meters by 6 meters wide. 12th September, we make history together,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Chef lost her title as the World’s longest cooking marathon to an Irishman identified as Alan Fisher on November 7, 2023.

Alan Fisher set a new record that year after finishing a 119-hour and 57-minute cooking marathon at his restaurant in Japan.
