Georgia high school students staged a fight to trick their principal into rushing to the rescue, just to sing him happy birthday.

Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School (LFO) Principal Bobby Davis was filmed racing through the hallways of the school as a large group of students gathered in a room on Thursday, a video showed.

Without hesitation, the principal grabbed onto the nearest fighting student to separate the two students.

As the student beamed in his arms, the stern-faced principal had yet to figure out that the whole fight was a prank.

As another staff member cheered, Davis looked around confused, until he figured it out. He then hugged the student and jumped into his arms.

‘Happy birthday on three!’ one male student yelled as people clapped.

Several students picked up the principal as the crowd sang the celebration song. Davis smiled from ear-to-ear.

After the song ended, he hopped out of the students’ arms and told the crowd: ‘Y’all got me! Y’all got me!’

He was called down to break up a fake fight in the school. He was caught on video sprinting through the halls

‘He single-handedly changed me for the better and he knows I could never take it for granted,’ De’Zayviun Watkins, the student who came up with the idea, wrote on Facebook.

‘The things he’s done during my time at LFO are truly memories I’d die with. I was so happy to come up with this idea and do it for him.’

Davis has only been the principal for one year, according to Local 3 News.

Many social media users praised Davis for his hard work, which is exemplified by the students wanting to wish him a happy birthday.

‘This is why they say “not all heroes wear capes.” What a legend!’ a Facebook user wrote.

‘This man is a warrior… You can tell they adore him. This is how a REAL MAN influencing a young heart works. Happy birthday, my man!’ another wrote.
