A university student shared the hilarious (and slightly traumatic) moment he returned home from campus rocking a fresh set of cornrows, only to have them chopped off within minutes by his unimpressed mom.
According to the student, he was feeling confident after getting his hair braided on campus, expecting compliments and maybe a few selfies with the family. What didn’t he expect? A surprise haircut appointment—right in the living room.
The moment he walked through the door, his African mom pulled out a pair of scissors, sat him down like it was a routine, and began snipping away.
But she didn’t stop there. Out came the razor blade, and before he knew it, the stylish cornrows had turned into a clean skin-cut.
She even applied ointment afterward, making sure the “transformation” was complete, like a full-on home barber shop experience, powered by motherly authority. The clip has since gone viral, with users sharing their own similar experiences.
