Ghanaian fans will need to pay lots of money to watch the Black Stars play at the 2026 World Cup Ghanaian fans will need to pay lots of money to watch the Black Stars play at the 2026 World Cup

The countdown to the 2026 World Cup is on, and Ghanaian fans are already dreaming of cheering the Black Stars on in North America. But the price of attending every match can be eye-watering.

While a family of five from England has already shared a detailed estimate for their World Cup trip, this is a breakdown of the cost for a single Ghanaian fan.

    Flights and accommodation

Flights from Ghana to the USA currently range between $900 and $1,300 for a return ticket. Assuming a mid-range price of $1,100, that’s already a major investment.

Accommodation for the month-long tournament can easily add $1,250 to $1,500 if staying in budget-friendly hotels or hostels.

    Match tickets

Ghana is drawn in a group that includes high-profile games against teams like England and Croatia. Ticket prices for group-stage matches range between $140 and $600 per match, or roughly GH¢1,600 to GH¢6,850.

Assuming an average of $220 per game, a fan attending all three group-stage matches would spend around $660.

Progressing through the knockout stages quickly multiplies the cost:

    Round of 32: – $235

    Round of 16: – $295

    Quarter-finals: – $680

    Semi-finals: – $920

    Final: – $4,185

If Ghana goes all the way, ticket costs alone could exceed $6,000.

    Daily spending and travel

On top of flights and tickets, an individual fan would need daily expenses for food, local transport, and entertainment.

A reasonable budget is $200 per day, which adds up to $5,600 for four weeks.

Travel to and from games within the host cities might add an extra $50–$75 per match, totaling approximately $500–$600.

    Total estimate

Adding flights, accommodation, tickets, daily spending, and local travel, an individual Ghanaian fan attending every game could spend around $10,000–$11,000 (114,000 –125,620), depending on ticket category, accommodation choices, and spending habits.
