Convicted former Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, is expected to appear before a court in the United States on January 21, 2026.

Ghana’s Ambassador to the US, Victor Smith, disclosed this in an interview with Joy News on Friday, January 16, 2026.

According to the Ambassador, official information received from US authorities confirms that Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu is scheduled to be presented before a court later this month.

“I have heard from official sources where she is being kept, and that she is going to court on January 21,” he stated.

Victor Smith also dismissed reports circulating in sections of the media suggesting that the former MASLOC boss was not being held at the Nevada Southern Detention Center.

“I don’t know where they are coming from or why they want to muddy the waters,” he added.

Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu is currently in the custody of US authorities following the execution of an extradition request submitted by the Government of Ghana.

She was sentenced on April 16, 2024, to 10 years’ imprisonment for embezzling GH¢3.19 million during her tenure as MASLOC CEO and for causing a deliberate financial loss of GH¢90 million to the state.
