MzGee called on Ghanaians to show empathy in these times MzGee called on Ghanaians to show empathy in these times

In the wake of the tragic military helicopter crash that claimed eight lives, including two Ghanaian ministers, media personality MzGee has shared an emotional message with her listeners and viewers.

On her show Gee O’Clock, the host said, “It’s difficult to post happy content at this point, not because we cannot, but because a brother’s pain is our pain. In fact, it should be your pain.”

“What are we truly here for? So, what’s all this struggle for?” she asked.

Beyond the questions and sorrow, MzGee called on Ghanaians to show empathy during this difficult time.

She reflected on the pain of the victims’ families, including a two-month-old baby left behind by one of the fallen officers and another victim who had celebrated his marriage only weeks earlier.

“You cannot hear the story and not have any emotions. No. No. God have mercy on us,” she said.

MzGee urged Ghanaians to move beyond blame, conspiracy theories, and divisive commentary.

“This is not a time for a blame game. This is a time for reflection,” she emphasised.

She invited her audience to embrace values such as forgiveness, community, and grace.

“Forgiving people doesn’t mean you have to let them back into your life. You forgive them for your own peace of mind. Show empathy. Treat others well in their down times,” she advised.

As tributes continue to pour in for the fallen public servants and military personnel, MzGee encouraged Ghanaians to hold on to their faith and belief in humanity.

“This is the time for us to hold on to our belief,” she concluded. “I believe in God, and that’s the only thing I can hold on to. It’s not that you’re special—it’s that mercy is keeping us.”

    What happened on Dark Wednesday?

Tragedy befell Ghana on August 6, 2025, when a military helicopter crashed.

The Z9 helicopter, carrying three crew and five passengers, came down in a dense forest as it was flying from the capital, Accra, to the town of Obuasi for an event to tackle illegal mining.

    There were no survivors.

The bodies of the eight deceased have been recovered from the crash site, and samples have been sent to South Africa for forensic identification and analysis.
