Benjamin Asare, goalkeeper for Accra Hearts of Oak and the Ghana national football team, has assured supporters that the team will bounce back strongly when they face Basake Holy Stars in their Week 24 clash of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The Phobians will host the encounter at the University of Ghana Stadium following two disappointing results that have slowed their momentum in the title race. Hearts were held to a goalless draw at home by Berekum Chelsea before suffering a 2-1 defeat away to Bibiani Gold Stars in their last outing.
Speaking to the club’s media ahead of the fixture, Asare acknowledged the frustration among supporters and stressed the team’s determination to improve.
“We take responsibility. The fans deserve better, and we will show it on Sunday,” he said.
Hearts currently sit third on the league table with 40 points, six behind leaders Medeama SC, while Basake Holy Stars occupy eighth place heading into the match.
