Accra Hearts of Oak will take on Hearts of Lions in their opening game of the 2025 Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Top Four tournament at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

The Phobians are aiming for a strong start as they look to reclaim their status among Ghana’s elite clubs.

Hearts of Oak head into the clash with renewed confidence after reinforcing their squad in the off-season and sharpening their form during preseason. Though they won the Homowo Cup a couple of days ago, their fans will be eager to see how they perform on the big stage.

Hearts of Lions, on the other hand, returned to the Top Four determined to make a statement against one of Ghana’s traditional powerhouses. The Kpando-based side impressed during the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign, and a positive result here could boost their chances of making a run for the title.

They will also be looking to stage a revenge, having lost the Homowo Cup to Hearts of Oak.

The match promises to be a keenly contested affair, with both teams pushing to secure maximum points in the opening round of fixtures.
