Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder, Raphael Amponsah has issued a strong call to their fans and the general public as they prepare for their fierce showdown against city rivals Accra Great Olympics in the 2025 Democracy Cup.
Speaking ahead of the game on September, 5, 2025, at the University of Ghana Sports stadium, Raphael Amponsah stated that the team is going to approach the game like “Wounded lions”.
“We are putting hardwork on training ground and we know how this match is against Great Olympics so we’re coming like wounded lions to lift up the trophy for the fans.”
“We’re winning it. The trophy is going to rainbow house so they should come”. He declared
The Democracy Cup is a prestigious annual fixture organized by the Parliament of Ghana in partnership with KGL Group to celebrate Ghana’s democratic values, has added spice to the historic city rivalry between Hearts and Olympic.
