The National Chapters Committee of Accra Hearts of Oak has voiced alarm over recurring poor officiating in the Ghana Premier League, calling on authorities to take immediate corrective action.

In a statement released on March 2, 2026, the committee, which represents the club’s various supporter groups, urged the Ghana Football Association and the Referees Appointment Committee to address what it describes as repeated questionable decisions that have negatively affected Hearts. The committee noted that previous appeals had failed to yield meaningful improvement.

Two recent matches were highlighted as examples. During Matchday 23 at the University of Ghana Stadium against Berekum Chelsea, referee Jacob Aduntera reportedly failed to award a clear penalty to the Phobians, an incident the club said “brought the game into disrepute.” Hearts also pointed to Matchday 24 at Dun’s Park against Bibiani Gold Stars as another case of questionable officiating.

The committee emphasized its opposition to hooliganism and appealed to supporters to remain calm, but warned that continued errors could reduce fan turnout and complicate leadership efforts at matches. It concluded by urging decisive steps to uphold fairness, transparency, and professionalism in officiating and restore confidence in the league.
