Hearts of Oak head coach, Mas-ud Didi Dramani has expressed massive delight after his ten-man side managed to secure a vital 0-1 over their bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko in the match-day 22.

The ‘Phobians’ delivered a standout performance to edge the ‘Kum Apem’ lads at the Baba Yara Stadium despite playing the majority of the crunchy encounter with a numerical disadvantage following an early red card.

The game was a very open encounter with high intensity, but the visitors held onto their slim lead courtesy Baba Adamu’s lone goal to silence the home crowd.

In a post-match presser, the enterprising gaffer heaped praises on his boys for their resilience and admitted the win has revived their title ambitions, insisting they are back in the race for the ultimate.

“Happy valentine to everyone. We didn’t get the time to celebrate so once I have the opportunity to wish everyone.

“We prepared for the game very well, got the points which is the most important as we can now keep the pressure on league leaders Medeama.

“We knew our strength and theirs, we knew what we can control and what we can’t. It was easy to play from the back at the beginning but the red card changed everything.

“We should still scored after the red card, we were always very dangerous as there were some spaces to exploit”, he landed

Hearts of Oak will remain in third place with 39 points and have now closed the points gap between them and league leaders Medeama SC to just five.
