Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has suggested that uncertainty over the match venue contributed to his team’s 1-0 defeat to Nations FC in Week 21 of the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League season.

The game, played at Tuba Park, saw Nations FC captain Razak Simpson score the decisive goal with a powerful strike.

In the days leading up to the match, Hearts of Oak faced uncertainty regarding their home venue.

Both the University of Ghana Stadium and the Accra Sports Stadium were unavailable due to various reasons.

Ouattara believes this disrupted the team’s preparation and affected their mentality heading into the game.

“When you don’t know the venue you are playing at 24 hours before the game and you are not well prepared on the psychological side, this is the result,” Ouattara said after the loss.

The defeat marks Hearts of Oak’s third defeat in four games, causing them to drop to sixth place in the standings.

Meanwhile, Nations FC continues to gain momentum in the competition, with Simpson’s goal proving crucial in securing their latest victory.
