Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak have appointed their former midfielder Daniel Kodie as the club’s new Assistant Welfare Manager ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The club confirmed the appointment on Tuesday as part of its efforts to bolster the backroom staff and improve player support and wellbeing.

Kodie, who played for the Phobians between 2016 and 2022, is well respected by fans and teammates alike for his commitment and leadership during his playing days.

His return in a non-playing capacity is seen as a move to maintain strong relationships between players and management.

The former Hearts star has been tasked with supporting the team’s welfare structure, helping players adapt to challenges on and off the pitch, and contributing to a positive environment within the squad.

Hearts of Oak continue to restructure their technical and administrative team following the appointment of Didi Dramani as head coach and Aboubakar Ouattara as Special Advisor.

Kodie’s experience in the Hearts setup is expected to be vital as the club aims to foster better communication and player motivation heading into a crucial campaign
