Ghana Premier League giants, Hearts of Oak have abandoned the Accra Sports Stadium as their home venue temporarily ahead of the Christmas festivities in the capital city.

The Phobians will now host the remainder of their 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League home matches in December at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Though the club has not communicated the decision in an official statement, they have announced that their home game against Vision FC will be played at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Saturday, November 29, 2025.

The move also comes on the back of complaints from their supporters that the Accra Sports Stadium is no longer favorable for them as they continue to struggle to win games at the facility.

In the ongoing 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League season, Hearts of Oak have only picked six points from their five home games at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Their sole victory came in a 1-0 win over bottom-placed Techiman Eleven Wonders, while a defeat to rivals Asante Kotoko and a series of draws have marked the rest of their home campaign.
