A viral video circulating online shows a distressing moment in Asaba, Delta State, where a man is seen desperately clinging to his Keke Napep, in an attempt to save it from being carried away by floodwaters.

The footage, captured by a social media user identified as @an__da__, was taken from an upper floor of a nearby building.

The user called on the Delta State Government to urgently address the poor road infrastructure and lack of effective drainage systems in the area.

Despite his firm grip, the man was eventually overpowered by the strong current, which caused the tricycle to stumble as floodwaters surged forcefully from one street to another.

Visibly devastated, the man placed his hands on his head, an expression of anguish over the loss of what appeared to be his source of livelihood.

At one point, the man was forced to swim to regain his footing, as the strength of the floodwaters made it too dangerous to stand or walk without being swept away himself.

The heartbreaking scene has since gone viral, with netizens lamenting about the lack of a good drainage system in Asaba and its environs.

Social media users sympathized with the man, with some requesting to help him recover the lost keke napep by donating a certain amount.

While some internet users questioned the filmmaker for documenting the man’s suffering rather than helping him,  others chastised the man for driving into the floodwaters.
