The video was snapped on the A58 in Wigan on Tuesday.

In the horrifying clip, the driver appears to ram into the vehicle in front – forcing it to skid down the road and up a grass verge.

Horrified onlookers can be heard shouting as the crash unfolds.

The digger is then spotted at a stand-still, next to a knocked over a traffic light. It seemed to have into a Post Office at the junction of Platt Street and Walthew Lane.

Police rushed to the scene of the crash and cordoned off the area.
