Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland has joked that new teammate Antoine Semenyo might challenge him for the Premier League Golden Boot after joining the club in January.
Haaland, who currently leads the top scorer chart with 20 goals in 21 games, joked that Semenyo won’t pass to him, as the Ghanaian forward looks to make his mark at the Etihad.
Semenyo, who has scored 10 Premier League goals this season and sits third on the scoring charts behind Brentford’s Igor Thiago (16 goals), has already impressed in his first appearance for City, scoring and assisting on his debut against Exeter.
The forward’s arrival adds another potent option to Pep Guardiola’s attack, giving the club more firepower across four competitions this season.

Speaking in a playful interview with City’s media, Haaland joked that Semenyo’s arrival could affect his scoring run.
“Semenyo is coming for my Golden Boot; he won’t pass to me,” Haaland said. Semenyo also responded with equal confidence and a subtle warning. “I’m gonna do it,” he said.
Since arriving in England in 2022, Haaland has won the Premier League’s golden boot award two times, shattering the Premier League record in his first season.
