Highlife musician Kwabena Kwabena has shared his heartfelt reflections on his encounter with the late Daddy Lumba, recalling the moments and memories they shared during Lumba’s final days.

In an interview with GhanaWeb on August 30, 2025, during the one-week celebration of the late musician, Kwabena Kwabena described the “Biribi Gye Gye Wo” hitmaker as a man full of warmth and wisdom, whose presence left a lasting impression on everyone who met him.

“My fondest moments will always be how warm he was whenever I visited him. We shared truly wonderful times, full of advice, encouragement, and lessons. Everything that makes a person unique was so evident in his style and the way he carried himself. These are beautiful memories that will always stay with me,” he shared.

What Serwaa Amihere said about Daddy Lumba’s love and legacy

Although Daddy Lumba passed in the final days of July this year, Kwabena Kwabena said Ghana has been plunged into a period of darkness and sorrow following his death, compounded by other losses in August.

“Apart from everything, this month of August, I would say, has been heavy. He died in the latter part of July, but within that period, it has been a very sad time for Ghana,” he said.

He further prayed for guidance and strength for Ghana and for the families of those who have lost loved ones during these trying times.

“We all pray that the good Lord Himself will help us feel better and heal from these painful moments. It’s so painful to lose someone like that,” he said.

Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, passed away on Saturday July 26, 2025, at The Bank Hospital in Accra.
