During the United Showbiz discussion, Mark Okraku-Mantey’s reluctance to appear on the show, based on his belief that it no longer focuses on pertinent entertainment issues but instead resorts to politics and other issues, came up.

This sparked varied reactions from the panellists, including Nana Aba Anamoah, who severely lashed out at the former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, describing him as someone who had failed to address key issues in the entertainment industry while in a position of influence.

Earlier, on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review, Mark Okraku-Mantey suggested changing the name of ‘United Showbiz’ because the show no longer focuses on showbiz topics.

Peace FM’s Kwasi Abogye asked when Mark Okraku-Mantey would appear on the show, to which Mark responded, “When we have proper conversations. Do you know that show is no longer showbiz? You need to change its name. I don’t have a problem with the show. When the ethics work over there, I’ll come. Now, I don’t know where I will fit in.”

When this issue was raised for discussion, Nana Aba Anamoah immediately jumped in, asserting that Okraku-Mantey had no right to criticise the show for discussing pertinent issues when he had failed to contribute to resolving them during his time in office.

“He said there are issues in the entertainment industry. How did he deal with that when he was a radio presenter for a very long time? How did he use his space? How did he use his space to deal with all those issues?

“He was given a position that could have allowed him to make the space he is complaining about better. What was his impact? It was zero. You know what? He sounds better when he is quiet. He shouldn’t talk about what people are doing in his space because he has not been impactful,” she stated, visibly upset.

While introducing his topic, the United Showbiz host Empress Gifty addressed him as “honourable,” but Nana Aba Anamoah felt he didn’t deserve that title.

“He is not an honourable. Don’t give people titles when they don’t own them. He is not a member of parliament. He has never been,” she fumed.

This development, captured in a video making the rounds online, has drawn mixed reactions.

Many have criticised Nana Aba for her harsh statements, with some even questioning if she has a personal vendetta against Mark Okraku-Mantey.

On the other hand, others sided with her sentiments.
