Opera singer Abiodun Koya has shared the unexpected reason she decided not to pursue a relationship with the Senator. Ned Nwoko, after a single date many years ago.

Speaking on a podcast session, she clarified that she and the lawmaker were never close, explaining that the outing happened about a year and a half before he met Regina Daniels.
The singer stressed that the encounter occurred long before Nwoko’s marriage to the Nollywood actress.
According to Abiodun, her decision was shaped by one seemingly small but significant moment that occurred when Ned arrived to pick her up for dinner at a luxury hotel in Abuja.
As she stepped outside, she noticed that he had parked his high-end vehicle directly in a space clearly marked No Parking.
Koya said the gesture immediately struck her as a red flag, explaining that while many people might overlook such an action, she is someone who pays close attention to little details, especially when they reflect a person’s values.
She added that the senator’s disregard for a simple rule made her question what such behaviour might signal for a future relationship or family.
“I was thinking, if I got together with you, what are you going to teach our sons? If he can’t respect rules and laws, I don’t want to be with him,” she said.
The incident, she noted, was decisive enough for her to decline any further interaction.
Koya concluded that some principles, no matter how minor they may appear, carry significant weight in determining compatibility.
