Nigerian Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has revealed a past relationship with a fellow public figure, which she described as emotionally draining and disrespectful.
Speaking in an interview on the popular Joe Budden podcast, Savage said her ex discouraged her from going public about the relationship and suggested he engage with other people to avoid suspicion.
“It’s the disrespect. I’m a public figure, and he is as well. He did this thing where he is like. I don’t want us to go public; I don’t want people to know. So, when we go out, I might be talking to other people, but I’m just doing it, so people don’t suspect, “she shared.

Despite this, she said she often found herself at events with him, where he would mingle freely with other women, even touching and kissing them.
“We might be in the same event and he would be with other people, talking and touching people, and he looks over at me and is like… ‘I’m just doing it so…’,” she added.
She described feeling silenced, forced to endure the behaviour even in plain view.
“I couldn’t say anything. And it was happening right in front of me,” she said.
Savage also discussed her boundaries around disrespect. While she said she has experienced infidelity and forgiveness in such cases, she emphasised that it is disrespect, not cheating itself, that she finds intolerable.
The revelations have prompted wide discussion online, with many fans reacting to the possible identity of the unnamed celebrity.
Although she did not name the person, many have speculated it could be fellow artiste Wizkid whom they suspected was in a relationship with Savage.
