Ghanaian rapper, Guru, has disclosed that collaborating with Kojo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, came with its fair share of challenges, particularly in the studio.

The NKZ Music boss made the revelation during an interview on Hitz FM, where he addressed a listener’s question about what motivated him to feature Lil Win on a song despite his non-musical background.

Guru stated that he chose to collaborate with Lil Win because he has always wanted to bridge the gap between the music industry and the movie industry.

The rapper further emphasised that Lil Win’s unfamiliarity with basic studio etiquette, such as how to properly hold or speak into a microphone, made their recording section and studio time difficult and challenging.

“Kojo Nkansah has always been an inspiration to a lot of people, and discovering him in the space of music was something I always wanted to do. After a while, I realised I needed to bring someone from the acting space into music.

“Although it was quite a bit difficult, especially since he was not coming from a music background, it was very difficult even at the time we were recording. How to hold the microphone was a problem; initially, he didn’t know how to hold it or even how to speak into it,” Guru shared.

Guru and Lil Win have released several collaborative tracks that have resonated with fans.

Some of their songs include; “Meba Ba Tia Wo,” “Alkayida,” and “Yeda Moase.”
