An official list of prominent individuals expected to receive national honors from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Monday, December 30, 2024, has been released.
President Akufo-Addo will present the awards to these individuals in recognition of their meritorious services, hard work, sacrifices, and contributions to national development.
Leading the list of award recipients is Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who will be honored with the Order of the Star of Ghana – Officer Award.
Dr. Bawumia’s running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, will also be recognised for his public service with the Order of the Volta – Officer Award, a category largely dominated by MPs and government appointees.
Other recipients, including government appointees and Members of Parliament, will be recognised for their services at the 2024 National Honours and Awards and the Presidential Honours for Distinguished Service in Accra.
The category also includes winners such as Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, Kweku Ofori Asiamah, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Kwasi Amoako-Atta, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, Mavis Hawa Koomson, Ambrose Dery, Dominic Nitiwul, and Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto.
Kwaw Ansah, Daddy Lumba, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, and Juliet Asante are also among those being honored in the Creative Arts category.

• Dr. Stephen Saforo Yirenkyi – Spatial Planning/Public Service
• Dr. Patrick Bamph Owiredu – Health/Public Service
• Kwaw Paintsil Ansah – Creative Arts
• Erastus Asare Donkor – Media/Journalism
• Margaret Anane-Agyei – Education/Counselor
• Mercy Naa Aforwa Needjan – Market Development
• Salma Salifu – Creative Arts/Fashion
