Harry Kane wins the Bundesliga Player of the Season
Harry Kane has been voted the 2024/25 Bundesliga Player of the Season, capping off a historic year with his first major club title at Bayern Munich.
The 31-year-old forward was instrumental in Bayern’s championship-winning campaign, scoring 26 goals and providing eight assists, a combined total of 34 goal contributions, the highest in the league this season.
His performance also earned him the Torjägerkanone, the award for the league’s top scorer, for the second year in a row.
This recognition comes after thousands of fans voted him into the Bundesliga Team of the Season, with Kane edging out other top performers to claim the individual honour.
Kane’s impact on Bayern’s success was undeniable. With him in the starting eleven, the club won 22 matches, drew six, and didn’t lose a single game.
In his absence, Bayern’s form dipped noticeably, with just three wins from seven matches.
The English striker also showed a knack for delivering when it mattered most. Ten times this season, he opened the scoring for Bayern, and the team won every match in which he found the net. He averaged a goal every 92 minutes in the Bundesliga.
Having now lifted the German top-flight trophy, Bayern’s 34th league title, Kane’s long wait for silverware is over.
But he is not done yet, the England captain will soon head to the USA with Bayern for the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup, where the Bundesliga champions are among the favourites to win.
