Young Ghanaian tennis sensation, Hanif Boateng, is rising fast on the tennis courts, following recent impressive feats in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) youth championships played at the Tennis Complex of the Borteyman Sports Stadium.
Performing wonders with his Australian partner, Aadithya Pai, the pair emerged the dominant force in both legs of the ITF J30 doubles tennis championship that ended a few days ago.
The pair shone in the initial edition, which started on March 31.
After weeks of thrilling tennis, Hanif and Pai emerged champions after defeating the doubles team of Joseph Sony Atitsogbe and Raphael Nii Nortey Dowuona.
That increased the pressure on the duo ahead of the second leg of the competition which started on April 7.
But once again, they lived up to expectation, brushing aside every opposition to book a ticket in the grand finale.
In the final match, Hanif and Pai endured a difficult start to overcome the pair of Lucky Danjuma and Hope Amartey in a tightly contested final which they won in two straight sets.
They displayed impressive teamwork and resilience to beat Danjuma and Amartey 7-5, 6-3 to win the second leg of the doubles championship.
They were presented with the winner’s trophy after the championship.
Speaking to the media, Hanif expressed delight in the feat and hoped to continue with that form in subsequent championships.
He also expressed gratitude to the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) and Tennis Foundation Ghana (TFG) for the support and training.
