Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club have confirmed that midfielder Hamza Issah remains under a valid and legally binding contract with the club, dismissing recent reports suggesting otherwise.
In an official statement dated February 18, 2026, the club clarified that no judicial, regulatory, or arbitral body, including the Ghana Football Association’s Player Status Committee or FIFA, has ruled that Issah’s contract has been lawfully terminated.
Hearts of Oak also denied claims of persistent financial default that could justify unilateral contract termination.
The club condemned the unauthorised disclosure of confidential correspondence by the player’s representatives, calling it unprofessional and misleading.
Hearts of Oak additionally accused South African side Siwele FC of unlawfully engaging Issah and facilitating travel without consent, describing the action as inducement and interference in a valid contractual relationship.
Formal complaints have reportedly been lodged with FIFA and other relevant authorities as Hearts of Oak seeks to protect its contractual rights and maintain professional integrity in football.
