German Bundesliga side Hamburger SV are reportedly close to completing the signing of Ghana-eligible midfielder Kofi Amoako from Dynamo Dresden in a deal worth around €2 million.
According to reports from German tabloid Hamburger Morgenpost, Hamburg have beaten several clubs to the signature of the talented defensive midfielder ahead of the summer transfer window.
The report claims FC Köln, FSV Mainz 05, Union Berlin and Premier League side Leeds United were all interested in signing the youngster.
Amoako has enjoyed an impressive campaign with Dynamo Dresden in the Bundesliga II, making 32 appearances and scoring once this season.
The 21-year-old consistent performances in midfield have attracted growing attention across Germany and beyond.
The German-born midfielder has represented Germany at several youth levels, but he remains eligible to play for Ghana since he is yet to feature for the German senior national team.
