The Ghana Table Tennis Association The Ghana Table Tennis Association

The Ghana Table Tennis Association has outlined plans to ensure alignment and support for the association’s renewed direction.

This development was contained in a press statement, and signed by its directors on September 9, 2025.

The statement reaffirmed the association’s commitment to continuous development after high court ruling, struck out and withdrawn, the suit initiated by Naa Abdulai Abdul-Razak, which sought to challenge the legitimacy of the association’s leadership and directorship.

“The high court’s decision, which also awarded cost against the claimant, unequivocally shows that the lawful positions of Mawuko Afadzinu and Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey as the only recognized directors remain.”

“The GTTA does not recognize or engage with any such unauthorized persons in any official and entreats the public to ignore representation from those individuals or groups.” The statement read.

Following the high court’s decision, the Ghana Table Tennis Association’s developmental initiatives would spin off after an engagement with the National Sports Authority to ensure alignment and support.

    The outlined initiatives include:

    1. Election Roadmap: Development and Publication of a transparent 9-month election framework to guide the association’s democratic processes

    2. Restructuring of Rules and Regulations: Comprehensive review and restructuring of the GTTA’s rules to streamline operations and enhance governance.

    3. Activity Calendar: Release of a detailed events calendar for the remaining 2025 to provide structure and clarity to all stakeholders.

    4. Stakeholder Engagement: Organisation of meetings with coaches, athletes, and partners to advance the “Transform Table Tennis Agenda” in Ghana.

    5. Athlete Mobilisation: Mobilisation of players to intensify training in preparations for upcoming national and international competitions.

    6. Digital Transformation: Launch of a digital upgrade programme to establish a robust planning database for talent identification and programme execution.

The Ghana Table Tennis Association also called for support from stakeholders, including athletes, coaches, and partners to unite behind the renewed momentum, indicating commitment to excellence in governance, sustainable growth, and elevating Ghana’s global standing in table tennis.
