The Development Analysis Team (DAT) has appealed passionately to President John Dramani Mahama to appoint a qualified person from Nzema as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Ghana National Gas Company.

In a statement signed by the group’s Founder and President, Ernest Agyim stated, “We urge President Mahama to appoint qualified Nzema individuals to critical roles such as CEO, Deputy CEO, Executive Director of Ghana Gas, Senior Manager of Community Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and other strategic positions within Ghana Gas”.

He explained, “This move would not only be a well-deserved acknowledgment of their hard work but would give cognizance to the local content policy, provide employment opportunities for people within the oil and gas enclave and ensure that the community is not worse off due to the company’s activities”.

He also took the opportunity to urge President John Mahama to consider Jomoro and Evalue Gwira NDC MPs in his government.

A PLEA TO PRESIDENT JOHN MAHAMA TO RECOGNIZE THE LOYALTY OF THE NZEMAS; BY DEVELOPMENT ANALYSIS TEAM(DAT)

As President John Mahama prepares to form his new administration, we take this opportunity to respectfully plead with him to consider the Nzemas for key positions, particularly in Ghana Gas. The Nzema community has consistently demonstrated its loyalty and dedication to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and it’s essential that their efforts are recognized and rewarded.

We urge President Mahama to appoint qualified Nzema individuals to critical roles such as CEO, Deputy CEO, Executive Director of Ghana Gas, Senior Manager of Community Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and other strategic positions within Ghana Gas. This move would not only be a well-deserved acknowledgment of their hard work but would give cognizance to the local content policy, provide employment opportunities for people within the oil and gas enclave and ensure that the community is not worse off due to the company’s activities.

Furthermore, we would like to bring to the President’s attention the outstanding performance of the Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Honourable Dorcas Toffey and the Member of Parliament for Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira, Honourable Kofi Arko Nokoe, Despite representing swing constituencies, they have successfully maintained their seats, demonstrating their exceptional leadership skills and the trust placed in them by their constituents.

In light of President Mahama’s recent statement, emphasizing the importance of being prepared to serve Ghana, we believe that these individuals have proven themselves to be dedicated public servants. We are confident that their inclusion in key positions would have a positive impact on the region and the country as a whole.

We hope that President Mahama will consider our plea and give the Nzemas the recognition they deserve.

Signed by Ernest Agyim (President and Founder)
