Ghana Black Queens midfielder Grace Asantewaa played a starring role for Juárez Femenil as she scored a dramatic late goal to secure a 1-1 draw with UNAM Pumas Femenil in Liga MX Femenil’s Clausura 2026 on Saturday.

The match, played at the Estadio Olímpico Benito Juárez, saw Pumas take the lead through Nayeli Bolaños in the first half. Juárez pressed for an equalizer throughout the second half but appeared set to drop points until injury-time drama.

In the first minute of stoppage time, Asantewaa delivered for the hosts, converting a free kick with a powerful right-footed strike that found the back of the net after a slight touch from the Pumas goalkeeper. Her goal brought Juárez level and ensured both teams shared the spoils.

The result lifts Juárez’s spirits as they continue their campaign, while Pumas were left to rue letting a late lead slip. Asantewaa’s timely intervention underlined her importance to the Bravas and marked a key moment in Juárez’s league outing.

Grace Asantewaa is expected to play a crucial role for Ghana as we prepare for the 2026 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in March.
