The Salpholda Hockey League 2025 resumed on Saturday, September 13, at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Pitch after a week’s break for the Afahye Games, featuring exciting clashes from the Masters and Men’s divisions.

Reformers Men opened the day against Police, with Samuel Apekne netting a brace in the 1st and 3rd quarters through penalty corners to secure a vital win and three points for his side.

In the Masters division, Golden Sticks proved too strong for Financiers in a 2-1 victory. Oxford Attipoe gave Golden Sticks the lead in the 13th minute, but Prince Ashrifie pulled Financiers level in the 55th minute through a penalty corner.

Wahab Raham, however, sealed the win in the 58th minute with a decisive field goal.

Elsewhere, Citizens and Multi Stix battled to a 2-2 draw, a result that dented Multi Stix’s title chase.

Arkmen and Legonknights also shared the spoils in a 1-1 stalemate.

Peprah Kwaku put Legonknights ahead in the 27th minute, only for Quaye Addo to restore parity for Arkmen with a penalty corner in the 53rd minute.

The biggest clash of the day drew a large crowd as Army took on GRA.

After a goalless first quarter, Ernest Obeng opened the scoring for GRA in the 33rd minute from a penalty corner.

Army hit back in the 42nd minute through Desmond Ampah’s field goal. With both teams fighting for bragging rights and a place in the league’s top two, GRA claimed the advantage in the 53rd minute when Evans Tetteh struck the winner, sealing a 2-1 victory.

The result handed GRA not only the bragging rights but also three crucial points, securing second place on the league table, while Army were left disappointed.
