Match-week 23 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League produced tight scorelines and important shifts across the table, with teams pushing for momentum as the season enters a crucial phase.

The round opened at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Stadium where Vision FC defeated Bechem United by 3-2 in a very exciting game. Augustine Okrah scored twice for Bechem United, a performance that pushed him into the joint lead of the goal-king race despite the loss.

Asante Kotoko ended their two-game winless run with a 2-0 victory over Young Apostles. Johnson Oppong Owusu scored in the sixth minute before Claude Shooting Borttey’s own goal sealed the win to finally put smiles on the faces of the Kumasi fans.

At the Legon Stadium, Hearts of Oak were held to a 0-0 draw by Berekum Chelsea. The ‘Phobians’ created chances through Mawuli Wayo and Frank Abora Duku, but a top-class display from their former goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi denied them the breakthrough.

Champions Bibiani GoldStars earned an important 1-2 away win over Heart of Lions, with substitute John Arthur Godfred scoring late to close the gap at the top to three points.

League leaders Medeama SC were held to a goalless draw by FC Samartex, extending Medeama’s winless run to three matches and will up the ante in their subsequent matches to preserve their lead.

Elsewhere, Aduana FC drew goalless at home to Hohoe United in a very difficult encounter at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Stadium, where left it all on the pitch but still couldn’t find the precious goal.

Basake Holy Stars produced one of their best performances this season with a narrow 1-0 win against Swedru All Blacks, thanks to Jacob Boazee’s second half penalty

Karela United continued their fine run with a 2-0 win over Eleven Wonders to extend their winning streak to three matches and have now jumped into the top seven on the table.

Nations FC and Dreams FC wrapped up the round with a pulsating 1-1 draw at the Dr. Kwame Sports Complex.

Match-week 23 ends with the title race growing tighter, mid-table positions shifting, and several teams gaining renewed momentum as the season moves toward its defining stretch.

The golden boot is also still up for grabs after 23 matches with Bechem United skipper Augustine Okrah and GoldStars’ Samuel Attah-Kumi currently taking it at each other – with the latter scoring today return to the top with 10 goals.
