The government, through the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP), has settled 31 days of arrears owed to caterers under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) for the first term of the 2024/2025 academic year.

In a statement, the GSFP Secretariat reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustaining the programme, which is vital in promoting school enrolment and enhancing child nutrition nationwide. The Secretariat also extended its appreciation to caterers for their patience and continued dedication despite the delay in payments.

“Government remains committed to improving the sustainability and efficiency of the School Feeding Programme,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has announced the successful disbursement of teacher trainee allowances for the 2023/2024 academic year. The arrears, covering three months, were paid to 65,685 students in 46 public Colleges of Education across the country.

The SLTF emphasized that the payments reflect the government’s broader commitment to supporting teacher education and improving service delivery within the education sector.

“Robust measures are being implemented to guarantee consistent and reliable future disbursements,” the SLTF noted.
