Minister for Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams, has reaffirmed government’s commitment to revitalising the Ghana Premier League and elevating its competitiveness.

Speaking at the official launch of a new partnership agreement between the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Adesa Production Limited (APL), the Minister emphasised that efforts to transform the domestic league are as crucial as the push to secure Ghana’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“We’re not only focused on qualifying for the World Cup; we’re also committed to making our local league attractive and competitive,” Adams stated.

The newly signed deal, announced ahead of the 2025/26 football season, will see each Ghana Premier League club receiving GH₵1 million in support ahead of the campaign’s kickoff.

As part of the agreement, at least three matches per week will be broadcast live, with additional highlight shows aimed at boosting visibility and fan engagement across the country.
