Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has officially launched the Ghana Music Experience (GMX) App.

On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, the event held in Accra, brought together industry executives, musicians, policymakers, and media representatives.

Dr. Bawumia emphasised that the GMX App is aimed at promoting Ghanaian music both locally and internationally, ensuring that all stakeholders in the music value chain receive fair compensation.

Frank, an executive at the Creative Arts Agency (CAA), stated that a subscription to the GMX App costs only GH¢ 9.99.

He mentioned that users can also access the app for free, albeit with ad pop-ups.

He added that no bank card or external payment platform is needed to use the GMX App, whether one is a creative or a consumer, as it is mobile money-compliant.

The GMX App, a private initiative supported by the government and the 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bawumia campaign, will cover not only the use of digital music copies but also live performances at religious and recreational events, among other features.
