    Golfers from clubs across the country gathered at the Center of the World Golf Club in Tema for the highly anticipated Golden Jubilee Swing, held in honor of Ghana’s most accomplished golfer, Mona Captan.

    The one-day tournament celebrated her remarkable legacy and decades-long contribution to the development of golf in Ghana.

    The event was organized by the Center of the World Golf Club with strong support from Tema Women’s Hospital, Landers Group, Tang Palace Hotel, Nuvel Premium Tissues, Vaseline (Unilever), Senchi Hotel, Bell Aqua, Zed Media, The Finder, and other esteemed partners.

    Golfers from different generations participated, adding a unique blend of experience and youthful enthusiasm to the celebration. Veteran golfers such as Florence Entwi-Barimah, Elizabeth Koomson, Beatrice Vetch Bimpong, Maggie Baah Owusu, Mike Aggrey, Rodney Oddoye, Kwaku Okyere, Prince Kofi Amoabeng, and Joshua Prempeh showcased their enduring passion for the game.

    Younger golfers also turned out in full force, eager to compete and celebrate a figure they have admired throughout their golfing journeys.

    After hours of spirited competition, players gathered near Hole 18 for the official announcement of winners across multiple divisions.

    Tournament Winners

    Men’s Group A

    Winner: Francis Amuzu

    2nd Place: Christopher Mbii

    3rd Place: Isaac Aninakwah

    4th Place: Rikie Hurtubise

    Men’s Group B

    Winner: George Wisbon Mensah

    2nd Place: Philip Dodu Fynn

    3rd Place: Bernard Atsuanagbonu

    Men’s Group C

    1st Place: Kojo Atta Ayetey

    2nd Place: Patrick Darko

    3rd Place: Patrick Amoah Bekoe

    Ladies Group A

    Fresh from her victory at the Head of State Invitational Tournament, Floria Hurtubise once again demonstrated her winning form, finishing ahead of Catherine Fabbi and Letitia Amponsah-Mensah.

    Ladies Group B

    Winner: Naomi Teye-Lartey

    2nd Place: Angelica Ayanful

    3rd Place: Belinda Kumako

    Men’s Seniors

    Winner: Issah Adam

    2nd Place: Michael Aggrey

    3rd Place: Paul Ayitia

    Ladies Seniors

    Winner: Maggie Owusu

    2nd Place: Florence Etwi-Berimah

    3rd Place: Hajia Zenabu Akoto

    At the closing ceremony, speakers including Prince Kofi Amoabeng, Leonard Kwaku Okeyer of the GGA, club officials, and veteran lady golfers paid heartfelt tribute to Mona Captan. They highlighted her mentorship, leadership, and lifelong dedication to advancing golf in Ghana. Many shared personal accounts of how Captan’s influence shaped their careers and strengthened the golfing community.

    The Golden Jubilee Swing not only celebrated her extraordinary achievements but also reinforced her enduring legacy as a champion and trailblazer for women in sports.
