Head coach of Bibiani Gold Stars FC, Fritz Schmid, has urged supporters to focus on the team’s commitment and work rate rather than expecting an automatic title defence in the Ghana Premier League.

Speaking ahead of his side’s Matchday 25 clash against Young Apostles FC in Wenchi, the Swiss tactician stressed that maximum effort remains the key standard he demands from his players in every match.

Schmid noted that fans should expect the team to give their all in every fixture, adding that the players are fully aware of the intense competition at the top of the league table.

The defending champions currently occupy second place with 45 points, just one point behind leaders Medeama SC.

The Miners head into the weekend in strong form after recording four consecutive victories, including an impressive 2-1 win over Accra Hearts of Oak.

Despite their momentum, the title race remains tight, with Asante Kotoko SC and Hearts of Oak also within close reach of the top spot.
