Ghana Oil Company PLC (GOIL) has issued a strong warning to the public against fraudulent social media posts and fake websites falsely advertising investment opportunities under its name.

In a statement released by its Corporate Affairs Department on October 2, 2025, the company said it has taken notice of a surge in online scams promising unrealistic monthly returns on supposed GOIL shares and investment cards.

GOIL categorically dismissed these claims, clarifying that it has not launched any scheme that offers guaranteed profits on shares or investments. The company further stressed that any use of its name, logo, or image in such promotions is unauthorized, fraudulent, and intended to mislead unsuspecting members of the public.

“These advertisements and websites are FAKE and not authorized by GOIL. GOIL has not launched any investment scheme that guarantees monthly returns on shares or cards,” the statement emphasized.

The company urged Ghanaians to exercise caution, ignore such deceptive promotions, and avoid engaging with individuals or groups behind the scams.

GOIL also directed the public to rely only on its official communication channels for accurate information, including its website (www.goil.com.gh) and verified social media pages on Facebook (GOIL.Official), Instagram (goil_gh), Twitter/X (@GOIL.Official), and LinkedIn (Ghana Oil Company Limited).

Reaffirming its commitment to integrity and service delivery, GOIL assured customers and stakeholders that it remains focused on providing trusted products and services across the country.

The company ended its advisory with a call for vigilance: “Verify first. Stay vigilant.”
