Ghanaian marriage counsellor and life coach PV Jantuah Boateng Dadson sparked a heated discussion on Kumasi-based Pure FM when he asserted that Ghanaian laws do not explicitly prohibit polygamy or men pursuing relationships outside their marriages.

His controversial remarks came during a live show hosted by Akoto Mansa, where they tackled a listener’s troubling marital story.

The anonymous man, who wrote to the show, shared his struggles after losing his job two years ago.

He lamented that his wife’s constant criticism of his unemployment had driven her to leave their home.

Seeking solace, he admitted to starting a relationship with another woman who, in his words, “accepts me for who I am.”

In response to the letter, PV Jantuah defended the man’s actions, citing societal expectations that he feels clash with a man’s natural inclinations.

“God understands men’s desires and inclinations toward women,” Jantuah stated.

He continued, “That’s why He hasn’t put strict barriers against such actions. Men are free to explore their desires as long as they maintain balance and dignity.”

Jantuah argued that prioritising mental health is crucial in such situations.

“A man cannot live under constant emotional duress.

“If he finds peace with someone who values him, he should pursue that relationship for his own sanity,” he said.

Akoto Mansa, the host, sought clarification, asking whether his comments encouraged infidelity.

Jantuah replied, “Infidelity is a label society uses without understanding the complexities of relationships. Sometimes, stepping outside may be the path to healing or rediscovering one’s strength.

“God does not prohibit polygamy or men having side chics.”
