Mixed reactions follow recent teaching on submission and marriage by the popular Nigerian pastor, Kingsley Okonkwo.

The man of God who is best known for his relationship counsels, weighs in on one of the most popular verses of the bible which admonishes submission for women in marriage.

He propounds that God never told men about their wives submitting to them as is the common interpretation with men when demanding respect.

It is the wives themselves God was discussing with, not the men which relates that men have no right to throw back the statement at women whenever an issue arises.

He therefore recommends that men focus on what God told them, the same with women too. When both obey, the marriage will become successful.

This view is tricky to understand as many failed to grasp what he was hinting at. Read some of the comments:

ajibola_adebayo22: Mentor sir… Very Profound! Let both parties focus on what the WORD said to them! He is actually talking to Christians who understand the principles of God!

emmydaniels_coach: Truth is, everyone submits. You don’t have to tell someone to submit, they just do it naturally if you treat them right. But if you have to ask for it, you’ve failed. Thank you daddy for the message. I hope they get it right.

kolawoleosho___: All this pastors Dey confuses person, another pastor go still come and tell us something else. Anyway either you preach or not , I go love my wife and treat her with respect.
