Kumawood actress Rose Akua Attaa Mensah, popularly known as Kyeiwaa, has issued a heartfelt plea to Ghanaian youth, particularly those aspiring to travel abroad, to take their education seriously.

In a video shared on Instagram on November 26, 2024, Kyeiwaa reflected on her experiences since relocating to the United States and the significant challenges she has faced due to her limited educational background.

“While your parents are struggling to cater for your education, don’t let it be in vain. Don’t neglect your studies; go to school. You might not feel the impact now, but when you abandon education, you’ll find yourself in a situation like mine, struggling to speak English. I’ve experienced this myself, and I’m advising you,” she stated.

Kyeiwaa emphasised that a lack of formal education can severely limit job opportunities, access to services, and social integration, urging the youth to prioritise learning.

Rose Akua Attaa Mensah is best known for her role in the “Kyeiwaa” film series. She began her career as a singer with the African Brothers band before transitioning to acting in the Akan Drama TV series and Cantata TV drama.

Kyeiwaa is currently married to US-based Ghanaian, Michael Kissi Asare.

The couple tied the knot on July 25, 2020, in Worcester, Massachusetts, with their wedding posts going viral on social media.
