Legendary highlife musician Kaakyire Kwame Appiah has urged his loved ones to start giving him their funeral donations while he is still alive.

He believes that instead of making donations during his funeral, they should rather give him the funds now so he can make good use of them while alive.

The highlife musician says he does not subscribe to the practice of making huge donations at funerals while the person struggled during their lifetime.

He made these remarks during an interview on Property FM in Cape Coast, which was monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

He said, “All that I’m saying is that, as humans, we need help while we are still alive, so don’t wait for me to die before you come and show off at my funeral. As we speak right now, if you call your siblings or friends and say you urgently need GH¢1,000 to do something, I’m sure they will give you a lot of excuses.”

He added, “Don’t wait until I’m no longer alive before you come and make huge donations at my funeral ceremony. Now that I’m alive, give me the money you would have donated at my funeral. I can use that money to do a lot of things while I’m still alive. The bottom line is that if we can help one another in any way, let’s do it—because we don’t last long on this earth,” he opined.
